   Pikake
is an elegant soon to be 5 year old bay inspected and approved KWPN Studbook mare.    Pikake is currently working very well at both under saddle and in harness. She is quite agreeable and is a quick learner and has made great progress this year with her training. Pikake has begun her competition in combined driving with great success and shall continue to further her experiences out competing this season.
   Pikake is by Junior STV out of Ster Preferent mare Tolanda. Junior STV is by the famous Uniform -Keur, sire of numerous Approved stallion sons and champion daughters. Uniform sired sons Gregor and Highness, dressage horses, in Germany, Montreux, and the popular U.S.A.'s Metallic, ridden by Gunterl Seidel, among many other upper level horses. Showing great versatiility, Uniform was the Champion in his 1981 Stallion Performance Testing, scoring 9.5's for both his jumping under saddle and dressage, and a perfect 10 for his character. Uniform's dam, Liris, comes from the Keur stallion, Eros, whose high index for dressage offspring puts him just behind his famous father, the Preferent, Amor.
     Junior STV's dam is Keur and Preferent, Ennia, by Variant, who is by Afrikaner xx, who made his fame first as a very successful flat racer and huddler. It was Afrikaner xx's ability to consistently pass on excellent movement to his offspring, however, that has placed him at the top level in the breeding values list based on his dressage index. Variant's dam, Lilium, was Keur and Preferent and was by Eros.
      At Junior STV's stallion testing he received 3 9's, two of those 9's being on his character and training report.   The judges report indicated much talent as a dressage stallion. Junior STV has recently enjoyed success being ridden at International Level Prix St George by Holland's famous Anky van Grunsven.
     Tolanda, Pikake's dam, is a daughter of Eros by Amor and is out of an Artilleur SGLDT Keur mare. This shows very good line breeding for Amor in Pikake's pedigree and this combined with her strong, excellent conformation and good mind should make for very exciting offpring from her.
